The recent event at The Covenant School in Nashville today is exactly why a School Resource Officer in all Vermilion Parish schools is among my top priorities as your next Sheriff of Vermilion Parish. We need to better prepare ourselves with highly trained School Resource Officers in a position to deter a tragedy from occurring, or at a minimum, be prepared to immediately react to eliminate or minimize casualties.
